It is essential that children and young people are safeguarded at all times. Sporting organisations have a responsibility to ensure that children who use their services are protected. All coaches and volunteers who have contact with children and young people must undertake the appropriate checks and safe recruitment procedures. They must be fully aware of their duties in relation to recognising and responding to suspected or confirmed child welfare concerns. Parents and carers must also be aware of their responsibilites towards safeguarding children.
Child Protection policies and procedures are not optional, they are an essential requirement for any sporting club or association.
